The Firemist Gold color went on sale in 1964 at GM/Cadillac under the name Firemist Saddle, later modified to Saddle Firemist in 1965. Fender renamed it Firemist Gold to make it more descriptive, as it was used from 1965 onwards to replace Shoreline Gold.
Widely used by Fender on all their models since 1965.
